I am very grateful for the care that Mr. Vats has given me throughout the time he has looked after me. I first met him over three years ago when I was initially referred to him. He has reviewed my case regularly, giving advice, and although he thought that I could be operated on when I first met him, he allowed me to decide when I was ready to be put on the surgery list. His clear and detailed explanations of what was wrong with my knee, and the complete process from operation to recovery, benefits and disadvantages, allowed me to make my decision with full understanding of the process.

I had a hip replacement in the summer, the operation being carried out by Mr Vats, my consultant. My treatment from our first meeting right through to follow up appointments after surgery have been exemplary. I found Mr Vats very sympathetic, easy to talk to and patient.

I have had a hip replacement operation through Mr Vats at Ashford Hospital. I cannot praise Mr Vats and his team enough for the care they provided to me earlier this year. From my initial telephone appointments through to face to face meetings nearer the time of the operation, Mr Vats was professional throughout and took time to understand my concerns and to explain the process and what to expect. We discussed the materials being recommended for the replacement joint, and why these would be suitable for me as someone undergoing hip surgery fairly early in middle age. I feel that I went into hospital prepared for the operation and the recovery phase post surgery. On the morning of the operation, Mr Vats visited me to explain the surgery once more, and to answer any last minute questions. From my perspective, the operation has been a success and I have been able to regain my health after a sustained period of pain and discomfort. I would have no hesitation in recommending Mr Vats to anyone considering similar surgery. He is thoroughly professional and has a relaxed manner which puts you at ease during what can be a stressful time.
